Community Development Worker

Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Community Development Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating community development programs and projects that promote social, economic, and environmental well-being in local communities. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct community assessments to identify needs, assets, and priorities
• Develop and implement community development projects and programs in areas such as education, health, and economic empowerment
• Build and maintain relationships with local stakeholders, including community leaders, government officials, and other development organizations
• Facilitate community engagement and participation in development initiatives
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of community development projects and programs
• Provide training and capacity-building support to community members and local organizations

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Community Development, Sociology, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
• At least 3 years of experience in community development, social work, or a related field
• Proven track record of designing and implementing successful community development projects and programs
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a team and build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders
• Fluency in Amharic and English; knowledge of other local languages is an asset
• Willingness to travel to rural areas and work in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of Ethiopian government policies and regulations related to community development
• Certificate in project management, community development, or a related field is an advantage
