SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

Brief Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing the accounting functions of our organization, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards. This is a senior role that requires strong technical accounting skills, excellent leadership and communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports
• Manage and supervise a team of accountants, providing guidance and support to ensure accurate and timely completion of accounting tasks
• Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational standards
• Conduct financial analysis and provide recommendations to management on financial performance and trends
• Ensure accurate and timely preparation of tax returns and other statutory filings
• Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support business decision-making

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
• Professional certification in accounting, such as CPA (Ethiopia) or ACCA
• At least 5 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a senior role
• Strong knowledge of Ethiopian tax laws and regulations, as well as international financial reporting standards
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels
• Proficiency in accounting software and systems, such as SAP or Oracle
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide insightful recommendations
