Brief Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HR Officer to join our team. As an HR Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the development and implementation of HR initiatives, policies, and procedures. You will be responsible for providing expert advice and guidance on HR-related matters, ensuring compliance with Ethiopian labor laws and regulations, and contributing to the overall success of our organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with Ethiopian labor laws and regulations
- Provide expert advice and guidance on HR-related matters, including recruitment, talent management, employee relations, and benefits administration
- Coordinate recruitment and selection processes, including job postings, interviews, and job offers
- Develop and maintain employee records, including personnel files, attendance records, and performance evaluations
- Provide support and guidance on employee relations, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and performance management
- Collaborate with management to develop and implement training and development programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge
- Conduct investigations, analyze data, and provide recommendations on HR-related matters
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
- Minimum 2 years of experience in HR, preferably in a similar industry or organization
- Knowledge of Ethiopian labor laws and regulations, including the Labor Proclamation and the Civil Service Proclamation
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
- Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Certification in HR, such as a Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) or a Certified HR Administrator (CHRA), is an asset
- Fluency in Amharic and English; knowledge of other local languages is a plus
