Technical Advisor: Executive of Finance – Food System

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical advice and support to senior management on financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting to ensure the effective management of financial resources.
• Develop and implement financial strategies to optimize resource allocation and ensure the long-term sustainability of our food system initiatives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement sustainable food system programs, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and financial capabilities.
• Conduct financial analysis and risk assessments to identify areas of improvement and develop mitigation strategies to minimize risks.
• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, private sector partners, and civil society organizations, to leverage resources and expertise in support of our food system initiatives.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements, applying this knowledge to continuously improve our financial management and food system practices.

Requirements

• MBA or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field from a reputable Ethiopian or international university.
• At least 8 years of experience in a senior financial management role, preferably in the food system or agribusiness sector.
• Proven track record of success in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting, with a strong understanding of financial management principles and practices.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and develop creative solutions.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with experience in managing and motivating high-performing teams.
• Fluency in English and Amharic is required; proficiency in other local languages is an asset.
• Professional certification in finance or accounting, such as CPA or ACCA, is an added advantage.
• Experience working with international organizations, government agencies, or private sector companies in the food system sector is highly desirable.
