TRANSPORT & CUSTOMS OFFICER – COORDINATION – Re-Advertised

Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transport & Customs Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and managing the transportation and customs clearance of goods, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and laws. Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage the transportation of goods, including routing, scheduling, and tracking
• Ensure compliance with customs regulations, laws, and procedures, including preparation and submission of customs documentation
• Liaise with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth customs clearance
• Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with customs regulations and company policies
• Develop and maintain relationships with customs authorities, freight forwarders, and other stakeholders
• Provide training and support to staff on customs procedures and regulations

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
• At least 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a logistics or customs environment
• Knowledge of Ethiopian customs regulations, laws, and procedures
• Experience with transportation management systems and customs software
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with stakeholders at all levels
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
• Proficiency in Amharic and English, with knowledge of other local languages an advantage
• Certificate in customs clearance or a related field from a recognized institution, such as the Ethiopian Customs Authority or the International Chamber of Commerce, is an added advantage
