Terms of Reference (ToR) Baseline Study for the Eye Health Project in Eastern Ethiopia
Brief Summary
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced consultant to conduct a baseline study for our Eye Health Project in Eastern Ethiopia. The objective of the study is to gather data on the current status of eye health services, identify gaps, and provide recommendations for future interventions. The consultant will be responsible for designing and implementing the study, collecting and analyzing data, and producing a comprehensive report.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct a comprehensive review of existing literature and documents related to eye health in Eastern Ethiopia
- Design a study methodology, including sampling frame, data collection tools, and data analysis plan
- Collect data from various sources, including healthcare facilities, communities, and key stakeholders
- Analyze data and identify trends, gaps, and areas for improvement in eye health services
- Produce a comprehensive report, including findings, recommendations, and an action plan for future interventions
- Present the study findings and recommendations to stakeholders, including project staff, partners, and government officials
Requirements
- Advanced degree (MSc or PhD) in Public Health, Epidemiology, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian or international university
- At least 5 years of experience in conducting research and studies in the field of public health, with a focus on eye health or a related area
- Proven track record of designing and implementing studies, collecting and analyzing data, and producing high-quality reports
- Excellent knowledge of research methodologies, data analysis, and statistical software (e.g., SPSS, SPSS, SPSS, Stata)
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to present complex data and findings to various stakeholders
- Fluency in English and Amharic, with the ability to communicate effectively with local communities and stakeholders
- Experience working in Eastern Ethiopia or similar context, with knowledge of local culture, customs, and healthcare systems
