Tax Supervisor

Brief Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Tax Supervisor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the tax function, ensuring compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations, and providing expert advice to management on tax-related matters. Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the preparation and filing of tax returns, including income tax, VAT, and withholding tax
• Ensure compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations, including the Ethiopian Income Tax Proclamation and the Value Added Tax Proclamation
• Conduct tax audits and reviews to identify areas for improvement and ensure accuracy and completeness of tax returns
• Provide expert advice to management on tax-related matters, including tax planning and tax risk management
• Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities and optimize tax benefits
• Collaborate with external auditors and tax consultants to ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations
• Manage and supervise a team of tax professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure effective and efficient tax operations

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Taxation, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
• Minimum 5 years of experience in tax supervision or a related field, preferably in a similar industry
• Professional certification in taxation, such as the Certified Tax Professional (CTP) or the Accredited Tax Consultant (ATC)
• Strong knowledge of Ethiopian tax laws and regulations, including the Ethiopian Income Tax Proclamation and the Value Added Tax Proclamation
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex tax laws and regulations
• Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to supervise and motivate a team of tax professionals
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide expert advice to management and collaborate with external auditors and tax consultants
