Sr Credit Portfolio Recovery Officer
Brief Summary
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Sr Credit Portfolio Recovery Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and recovering a portfolio of non-performing loans, developing and implementing effective recovery strategies, and maintaining strong relationships with customers and stakeholders. This is a key role that requires a strong understanding of credit risk management, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement effective recovery strategies for non-performing loans to minimize losses and maximize recoveries
- Conduct thorough analysis of customer financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant data to identify potential recovery opportunities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, lawyers, and other stakeholders to facilitate recoveries and resolve disputes
- Negotiate and structure settlement agreements, debt restructurings, and other recovery arrangements
- Monitor and report on portfolio performance, providing regular updates to management and other stakeholders
- Collaborate with internal teams, including credit risk, legal, and sales, to identify and mitigate potential credit risks
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulatory requirements, and best practices in credit portfolio recovery
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Finance, Accounting, or related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
- Minimum 5 years of experience in credit risk management, loan recovery, or a related field, preferably in a banking or financial institution
- Professional certification in credit risk management, such as CFA or CRMA, is an advantage
- Strong understanding of Ethiopian banking regulations, laws, and industry standards
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with ability to build strong relationships with customers and stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to analyze complex financial data and develop effective recovery strategies
- Fluency in English and Amharic, with ability to communicate effectively in both languages
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
