Job Title: Site Engineer

Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Engineer to join our team. As a Site Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the technical aspects of construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. You will work closely with the project manager, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure that projects are executed efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct site investigations and analyze data to determine the best approach for construction projects
• Develop and implement project plans, schedules, and budgets
• Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and efficient project execution
• Monitor and control project costs, identifying areas for cost savings and implementing corrective actions as needed
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and other relevant standards
• Inspect and test construction materials, equipment, and workmanship to ensure quality standards are met
• Provide technical support and guidance to site staff and contractors
• Identify and mitigate potential risks and issues that could impact project timelines or budgets

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a site engineering role, preferably in the Ethiopian construction industry
• Professional certification from the Ethiopian Association of Civil Engineers or a similar professional body
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safety protocols
• Excellent project management, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficiency in MS Office and project management software, such as Primavera or MS Project
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to construction sites as needed
