Silica Sand Quarry Controller

Brief Summary

We are seeking an experienced Silica Sand Quarry Controller to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the extraction and processing of silica sand from our quarry sites, ensuring that all operations are carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quarry management, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the silica sand quarry, including extraction, processing, and transportation of materials
  • Develop and implement effective quarry management plans to ensure maximum efficiency and productivity
  • Conduct regular inspections of the quarry site to identify potential safety hazards and implement corrective actions
  • Manage and supervise a team of quarry workers, providing guidance, training, and support as needed
  • Monitor and control production costs, ensuring that operations are carried out within budget
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure that quarry operations are aligned with overall business objectives
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, laws, and company policies

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
  • At least 5 years of experience in quarry management, preferably in a silica sand quarry environment
  • Strong knowledge of quarry operations, including extraction, processing, and transportation of materials
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with teams
  • Proficiency in MS Office and quarry management software
  • Valid Ethiopian driver’s license and willingness to travel to quarry sites
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (OHSE) or a related field is an advantage
