Silica Sand Quarry Controller

Brief Summary

We are seeking an experienced Silica Sand Quarry Controller to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our silica sand quarry, ensuring the efficient and safe extraction of high-quality silica sand. Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the silica sand quarry, including extraction, processing, and transportation of silica sand
  • Develop and implement effective operational plans to achieve production targets and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations
  • Conduct regular inspections of the quarry to identify and mitigate potential hazards and risks
  • Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure that equipment is properly maintained and functioning efficiently
  • Analyze production data and make recommendations for process improvements
  • Supervise and train quarry staff to ensure that they are working safely and efficiently
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure that quarry operations are aligned with company goals and objectives

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
  • At least 5 years of experience in quarry operations, preferably in a supervisory or management role
  • Strong knowledge of silica sand extraction and processing methods
  • Familiarity with Ethiopian mining regulations and safety standards
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team
  • Proficiency in MS Office and ability to learn other software applications
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Willingness to work in a remote location and travel to other sites as required
