Senior Accountant

Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Accountant to join our team. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for leading the accounting department, managing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. You will also provide strategic financial guidance to senior management and play a key role in shaping the company’s financial future.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
• Lead the accounting team in maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records and accounts
• Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations
• Conduct financial analysis and provide strategic recommendations to senior management
• Manage and coordinate the annual budgeting process and forecasting
• Ensure timely and accurate submission of tax returns and other statutory requirements

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field from a reputable university in Ethiopia, such as Addis Ababa University or Mekelle University
• Professional certification in accounting, such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants)
• At least 5 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a senior role
• Proven knowledge of Ethiopian tax laws and regulations, including the Ethiopian Income Tax Proclamation
• Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in supervising and guiding a team
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to interpret financial data and provide strategic recommendations
• Proficiency in accounting software, such as SAP or QuickBooks, and Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word
