Job Title: Senior Accountant

Brief Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for preparing and reviewing financial statements, managing accounting operations, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. You will also provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff and contribute to the development of the company’s financial strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
• Manage accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations, including Ethiopian accounting standards and tax laws
• Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff, including training and mentoring
• Analyze financial data and provide recommendations to management on financial planning and strategy
• Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure accurate and efficient financial management
• Coordinate with external auditors to ensure smooth audit processes

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
• Professional certification, such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants)
• At least 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a senior role
• Strong knowledge of Ethiopian accounting standards and tax laws
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong leadership and management skills, with ability to motivate and guide junior staff
• Proficiency in accounting software, such as SAP or Oracle
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders
