Job Description

Job Title: Regional Project Officer

Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Regional Project Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and implementing projects in a specific region, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The Regional Project Officer will work closely with local stakeholders, including government officials, community leaders, and other partners to achieve project goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement project plans, including setting goals, objectives, and timelines
  • Conduct needs assessments and analyze data to inform project design and implementation
  • Build and maintain relationships with local stakeholders, including government officials, community leaders, and other partners
  • Manage project budgets, ensuring that expenditures are in line with approved budgets and that financial reports are accurate and timely
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of project staff, including providing training and capacity-building support
  • Monitor and evaluate project progress, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed
  • Prepare and submit project reports, including progress reports, financial reports, and final evaluation reports

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as Project Management, Business Administration, or Development Studies, from a recognized Ethiopian university
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in project management, preferably in a development or humanitarian context
  • Proven track record of managing and implementing projects, including setting goals, objectives, and timelines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data and inform project design and implementation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with local stakeholders
  • Fluency in Amharic and English, with the ability to communicate effectively in both languages
  • Ability to work in a team environment, with a strong commitment to collaboration and teamwork
  • Knowledge of Ethiopian laws and regulations, including those related to project management and implementation
  • Experience with project management software and tools, including MS Project and Excel
