Purchaser

Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Purchaser to join our procurement team. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing goods, materials, and services that meet the company’s needs, while also ensuring that all purchases are made in accordance with company policies and procedures. The Purchaser will work closely with various departments to understand their requirements and provide timely and cost-effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and purchase goods, materials, and services from reputable suppliers
• Negotiate prices, terms, and conditions with suppliers to achieve the best possible deals
• Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and stay up-to-date with market trends
• Develop and maintain relationships with existing and potential suppliers
• Manage and maintain accurate records of purchases, including invoices, receipts, and payment records
• Collaborate with other departments to understand their procurement needs and provide support as required
• Ensure that all purchases are made in accordance with company policies and procedures

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
• At least 2 years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role, preferably in a similar industry
• Knowledge of Ethiopian procurement laws and regulations, including the Public Procurement Proclamation
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
• Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, and experience with procurement software and systems
• Membership in a professional procurement organization, such as the Ethiopian Purchasing and Supply Management Professional Association (EPSMPA), is an asset
