Purchaser
Brief Summary
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Purchaser to join our procurement team. The successful candidate will be responsible for purchasing goods, materials, and services, ensuring that they are of the required quality, quantity, and at the best possible price. The Purchaser will work closely with various departments to understand their procurement needs and develop strategies to meet those needs efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and purchase goods, materials, and services from suppliers, ensuring that they meet the required quality, quantity, and at the best possible price.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiating prices, delivery terms, and other contractual arrangements.
- Conduct market research to identify new suppliers, products, and services, and to stay up-to-date with market trends and developments.
- Prepare and manage purchase orders, contracts, and other procurement documents, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and develop strategies to meet those needs efficiently and effectively.
- Monitor and analyze procurement performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or a related field, preferably in a similar industry.
- Professional certification in procurement, such as CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply) or a similar certification, is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and regulations, including Ethiopian procurement laws and regulations.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, and experience with procurement software and systems.
- Fluency in English and Amharic, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
