Project Officer – Community Level Sidama region

Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Officer to work with our team in the Sidama region. The successful candidate will be responsible for the implementation of community-level projects, working closely with local stakeholders, and ensuring that project activities are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional to make a real difference in the lives of community members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement project plans, budgets, and monitoring frameworks to ensure effective project delivery
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local stakeholders, including community leaders, government officials, and partner organizations
  • Facilitate community engagement and participation in project activities, ensuring that the needs and concerns of community members are taken into account
  • Provide training and capacity-building support to community members and local stakeholders, as required
  • Monitor project progress, identify and mitigate risks, and report on project outcomes and impacts
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure that project activities are aligned with organizational goals and objectives

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field
  • At least 2 years of experience in project management, community development, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of community development principles and practices, with experience in working with local stakeholders and community members
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Fluency in Sidaama and Amharic languages is required, with English language skills an added advantage
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong focus on results and accountability
  • Experience in project monitoring and evaluation, with knowledge of data collection and analysis methods
  • Strong computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and other software applications
