Procurement Team Lead

Brief Summary

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Team Lead to join our dynamic team. As a Procurement Team Lead, you will be responsible for leading the procurement team, developing and implementing procurement strategies, and ensuring that all procurement activities are conducted in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures. You will also be responsible for managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring that all goods and services are procured in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the procurement team to achieve departmental goals and objectives
• Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services
• Manage supplier relationships and negotiate contracts to ensure best value for the company
• Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and opportunities for cost savings
• Ensure that all procurement activities are conducted in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures
• Collaborate with other departments to identify procurement needs and develop procurement plans
• Analyze procurement data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
• At least 5 years of experience in procurement, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
• Professional certification in procurement, such as CIPS or CPP, is an advantage
• Strong knowledge of Ethiopian procurement laws and regulations
• Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Fluency in English and Amharic, with knowledge of other local languages an advantage
