Job Title: Procurement (Supply Chain) Director – River Valley

Brief Summary

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Procurement (Supply Chain) Director to lead our procurement team in River Valley. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies, managing supply chain operations, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement and supply chain management, with excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to achieve company objectives and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
  • Lead and manage the procurement team to ensure effective and efficient procurement operations
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify new suppliers and opportunities for cost savings
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers to ensure best value for the company
  • Manage and maintain relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders
  • Develop and implement supply chain risk management strategies to mitigate potential risks
  • Analyze data and metrics to measure procurement performance and identify areas for improvement
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment and integration of procurement strategies with business objectives

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field from a reputable Ethiopian university
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in procurement and supply chain management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
  • Professional certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g. CIPS, APICS) is an advantage
  • Strong knowledge of Ethiopian procurement laws and regulations
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and procurement software applications
  • Fluency in English and Amharic is required; knowledge of other local languages is an advantage
