Procurement Officer (Local & International)
Brief Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Procurement Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement process for local and international goods and services, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures, as well as relevant laws and regulations. The Procurement Officer will work closely with various departments to identify procurement needs, develop procurement plans, and ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to achieve organizational objectives
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their capabilities
- Prepare and issue Request for Quotations (RFQs), Request for Proposals (RFPs), and other procurement documents
- Negotiate prices, terms, and conditions with suppliers to ensure best value for the organization
- Manage the procurement process, including receipt, evaluation, and award of bids
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and relevant laws and regulations
- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and other external partners
- Monitor and report on procurement performance, including savings, quality, and delivery
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
- Minimum 3 years of experience in procurement, preferably in a similar industry or organization
- Professional certification in procurement, such as CIPS or ISM, is an added advantage
- Strong knowledge of Ethiopian procurement laws and regulations, as well as international procurement best practices
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Fluency in English and Amharic is required; knowledge of other local languages is an added advantage
