Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Procurement Officer (Import & Export) to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement process for imported and exported goods, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and maintaining high standards of quality and customer service. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies for imported and exported goods, aligning with organizational objectives and budget requirements.
  • Source and evaluate potential suppliers, conducting market research and analysis to ensure best value for money.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, such as Ethiopian customs and tax regulations.
  • Manage the procurement process, from requisition to delivery, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of goods and services.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including logistics, finance, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless integration and coordination of procurement activities.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on procurement policies and procedures, promoting a culture of compliance and best practice.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement, preferably in an import and export environment, with a proven track record of success.
  • Professional certification in procurement, such as CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply) or a similar qualification, is an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of Ethiopian customs and tax regulations, as well as international trade agreements and conventions.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, as well as experience with procurement software and systems.
  • Fluency in English, with Amharic language skills being an advantage.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines, with a strong focus on attention to detail and quality.
