Job Title: Procurement Officer

Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Procurement Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement process, ensuring that goods and services are acquired in a timely and cost-effective manner, and in accordance with company policies and procedures. The Procurement Officer will work closely with various departments to identify procurement needs, develop procurement plans, and implement best practices to achieve organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to achieve organizational objectives
  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, conduct market research, and negotiate contracts
  • Manage the procurement process, from requisition to payment, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with departments to understand procurement needs and develop procurement plans
  • Conduct thorough analysis of procurement data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement
  • Implement and maintain a robust supplier management system to ensure high-quality goods and services
  • Develop and manage procurement budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and value for money
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or a related field
  • Professional certification in procurement, such as CIPS or equivalent, is an added advantage
  • Strong knowledge of Ethiopian procurement laws, regulations, and industry standards
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail
  • Fluency in English and Amharic, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
