Procurement Officer

Job Description

Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Procurement Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement process, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures, and maintaining effective relationships with suppliers and stakeholders. The Procurement Officer will play a critical role in supporting the organization’s operations by procuring high-quality goods and services in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies to achieve organizational objectives
• Prepare and manage procurement plans, tender documents, and contracts
• Conduct market research and analyze procurement data to identify trends and opportunities for cost savings
• Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, contractors, and other stakeholders
• Negotiate prices, terms, and conditions with suppliers to ensure best value for the organization
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
• Manage and resolve procurement-related issues and disputes
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify procurement needs and provide support and guidance

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
• Minimum 3 years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or a related field
• Professional certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g. CIPS, CPSM) is an advantage
• Strong knowledge of Ethiopian procurement laws, regulations, and standards
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
