Procurement Officer

Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Procurement Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement process, ensuring that goods and services are acquired in a timely and cost-effective manner, and in compliance with company policies and procedures. The Procurement Officer will work closely with various departments to identify procurement needs, develop procurement plans, and implement procurement strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement plans and strategies to achieve company objectives
• Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their qualifications and performance
• Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to ensure best value for money
• Manage the procurement process, including requisitions, tenders, and evaluations
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
• Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, stakeholders, and other departments
• Analyze procurement data and provide insights to inform business decisions
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
• Minimum 3 years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or a related field
• Certificate in Procurement and Supply Chain Management (e.g. CIPS, CPSM) is an advantage
• Strong knowledge of Ethiopian procurement laws and regulations
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Fluency in English and Amharic is required; knowledge of other local languages is an advantage
