Procurement Officer

Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Procurement Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement process, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures, and maintaining effective relationships with suppliers and stakeholders. The Procurement Officer will play a key role in supporting the organization’s operations and achieving its strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to achieve organizational goals and objectives
  • Conduct market research and analyze data to identify trends and opportunities for cost savings
  • Prepare and manage procurement plans, tender documents, and contracts
  • Coordinate and facilitate the procurement process, including RFQs, RFPs, and auctions
  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, vendors, and stakeholders
  • Negotiate prices, terms, and conditions with suppliers to achieve best value for the organization
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Manage and maintain accurate and up-to-date records of procurement activities
  • Provide training and support to staff on procurement policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or a related field
  • Professional certification in procurement, such as CIPS or CPSM, is an advantage
  • Strong knowledge of Ethiopian procurement laws, regulations, and standards
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Fluency in English and Amharic is required; knowledge of other local languages is an advantage
