Job Title: Portfolio Manager – Construction Sector
Brief Summary
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Portfolio Manager to join our team in the construction sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a portfolio of construction projects, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery, and driving business growth through strategic planning and execution. The Portfolio Manager will play a key role in identifying new business opportunities, developing and maintaining client relationships, and overseeing project teams to achieve exceptional results.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve business objectives and growth targets in the construction sector
- Manage a portfolio of construction projects, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients and stakeholders
- Lead and manage project teams, providing guidance, support, and direction to ensure successful project delivery
- Conduct market research and analyze industry trends to stay ahead of the competition and identify areas for growth and improvement
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and operations, to drive business growth and success
- Develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, and resource allocation plans to ensure optimal use of resources
- Monitor and report on project performance, identifying and mitigating risks, and implementing corrective actions as needed
Requirements
- MSc or BSc degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the construction industry, with at least 2 years in a portfolio management or similar role
- Proven track record of successful project delivery and business growth in the construction sector
- Strong knowledge of construction project management principles, practices, and techniques
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with ability to motivate and manage high-performing teams
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with ability to think strategically and drive business growth
- Familiarity with Ethiopian construction industry regulations, standards, and best practices
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, project management software, and other relevant tools and technologies
- Membership in a professional body, such as the Ethiopian Association of Civil Engineers, is an added advantage
