MSc Graduate Fellow – Genetic diversity forage spp collections (Four Positions)
Brief Summary
We are seeking highly motivated and talented individuals to fill four MSc Graduate Fellow positions in the field of Genetic diversity forage spp collections. The successful candidates will be part of a dynamic team working on a project that aims to explore and conserve the genetic diversity of forage species in Ethiopia. The fellows will have the opportunity to work with a team of experienced researchers and contribute to the development of new methods and technologies for the conservation and improvement of forage crops.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct field and laboratory research to collect, characterize, and conserve forage species
- Develop and implement experimental designs to study the genetic diversity of forage species
- Collect and analyze data on the morphological, biochemical, and molecular characteristics of forage species
- Participate in the development of research proposals, reports, and manuscripts for publication
- Presentation of research findings at national and international conferences and workshops
- Collaborate with other researchers, students, and stakeholders to achieve project goals
Requirements
- MSc degree in Genetics, Plant Breeding, Agronomy, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
- Strong background in plant genetics, breeding, and biotechnology
- Experience in laboratory and field research, including data collection and analysis
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in English language and local languages (Amharic or other Ethiopian languages)
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Experience with statistical analysis software and computer programming languages (e.g. R, Python) is an advantage
