Job Title: Midwife Mentor

Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Midwife Mentor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing guidance, support, and training to midwives in our healthcare facilities. The Midwife Mentor will play a critical role in improving the quality of maternal and newborn care, promoting best practices, and enhancing the skills and knowledge of midwives.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one mentoring and coaching to midwives to improve their clinical skills and knowledge
• Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and competencies of midwives
• Conduct regular assessments and evaluations to identify areas for improvement and provide feedback to midwives
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement evidence-based guidelines and protocols for maternal and newborn care
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the quality of care and services provided to patients

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Midwifery from a recognized Ethiopian university
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a midwife, with at least 2 years in a mentoring or leadership role
• Registration with the Ethiopian Midwives Association and a valid practicing license
• Strong knowledge of maternal and newborn care, including current guidelines and protocols
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and mentoring skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to quality and patient-centered care
