Mechanic-Driver/Purchaser

Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanic-Driver/Purchaser to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving vehicles, performing routine maintenance and repairs, as well as purchasing goods and supplies. The ideal candidate should have excellent driving and mechanical skills, as well as strong communication and negotiation skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive vehicles safely and efficiently, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on vehicles, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements
• Diagnose and repair complex mechanical problems, including engine and transmission issues
• Purchase goods and supplies, including spare parts, tools, and equipment
• Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers to ensure the best value for the company
• Maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance, repairs, and purchases
• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including those related to transportation and procurement

Requirements

• Diploma or certificate in mechanics or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian institution
• Valid Ethiopian driver’s license, with a minimum of 3 years of driving experience
• Proven experience as a mechanic, with expertise in vehicle maintenance and repair
• Strong knowledge of procurement principles and practices
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively with suppliers and stakeholders
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong sense of responsibility and accountability
• Fluency in Amharic and English, with the ability to read and write in both languages
