Livelihood Officer

Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Livelihood Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and monitoring livelihood programs that aim to improve the socio-economic well-being of vulnerable communities. The Livelihood Officer will work closely with local stakeholders, including community leaders, government agencies, and other development partners to ensure the effective delivery of program activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct needs assessments and analysis to identify opportunities for livelihood improvement in target communities
• Design and implement livelihood programs, including business skills training, vocational training, and income-generating activities
• Develop and manage relationships with local stakeholders, including community leaders, government agencies, and other development partners
• Provide technical assistance and capacity-building support to community-based organizations and local government agencies
• Monitor and evaluate program activities, including data collection, analysis, and reporting
• Identify and pursue new funding opportunities to support livelihood programs
• Collaborate with other teams, including program, operations, and finance to ensure effective program implementation

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as Economics, Agriculture, Business Administration, or Social Sciences from a recognized Ethiopian university
• Minimum 3 years of experience in livelihood programming, including experience in program design, implementation, and monitoring
• Proven experience in working with vulnerable communities, including experience in community mobilization and participation
• Strong understanding of the Ethiopian context, including the social, economic, and cultural dynamics
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including experience in working with diverse stakeholders
• Fluency in Amharic and English, with ability to communicate in other local languages an asset
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including experience in data analysis and report writing
• Experience in working with international organizations, NGOs, or government agencies an asset
