Poultry Production Manager

Brief Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Poultry Production Manager to oversee our poultry farm operations in Ethiopia. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of poultry production, including breeding, hatching, growing, and processing. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in poultry production, excellent management skills, and the ability to work effectively with staff, suppliers, and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective poultry production strategies to achieve business objectives
  • Oversee the daily operations of the poultry farm, including feeding, breeding, and health management
  • Manage and supervise farm staff, providing training and guidance as needed
  • Monitor and control poultry disease, ensuring the health and well-being of the flock
  • Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure high-quality products
  • Analyze production data and make informed decisions to optimize production efficiency and profitability
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as sales and marketing, to align production with business goals
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards

Requirements

  • BSc degree in Poultry Science, Animal Science, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
  • At least 5 years of experience in poultry production management, preferably in a commercial poultry farm setting
  • Proven track record of success in managing poultry production operations, including experience with breeding, hatching, and growing
  • Excellent management and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and supervise staff
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make informed decisions
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff, suppliers, and other stakeholders
  • Familiarity with Ethiopian laws and regulations related to poultry production and animal health
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
