Laboratory Technologist

Brief Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Laboratory Technologist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting laboratory tests and procedures to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine and specialized laboratory tests and procedures, including hematology, biochemistry, microbiology, and parasitology
  • Prepare and examine slides, cultures, and other laboratory specimens
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including microscopes, centrifuges, and analyzers
  • Perform quality control checks on laboratory equipment and procedures
  • Monitor and maintain laboratory inventory and supplies
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide accurate and timely laboratory results
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of laboratory tests and results
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development to stay current with new technologies and procedures

Requirements

  • Diploma or degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from a recognized Ethiopian university or college
  • Registration with the Ethiopian Federal Ministry of Health or other relevant regulatory body
  • At least 2 years of experience working in a laboratory setting, preferably in a hospital or clinical laboratory
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, including safety protocols and quality control measures
  • Proficiency in operating laboratory equipment, including microscopes, centrifuges, and analyzers
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with healthcare professionals and patients
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate and detailed records
