Job Description

Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Purchaser to join our procurement team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the procurement of goods and services, ensuring that all purchases are made in a timely and cost-effective manner. This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate or someone with limited experience in procurement to gain hands-on experience and develop their skills in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the procurement of goods and services, including sourcing, evaluating, and selecting suppliers
  • Prepare and process purchase orders, requests for quotations, and other procurement documents
  • Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and stay up-to-date with market trends and prices
  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, ensuring that all interactions are professional and courteous
  • Assist in the negotiation of prices, delivery terms, and other contractual arrangements with suppliers
  • Ensure that all purchases are made in accordance with company policies and procedures, as well as relevant laws and regulations
  • Provide administrative support to the procurement team, including data entry, filing, and record-keeping

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
  • 0-2 years of experience in procurement or a related field, with a strong desire to learn and develop skills
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound judgments and decisions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong attention to detail and a commitment to meeting deadlines
  • Fluency in Amharic and English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Certificate in procurement or a related field, such as CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply), is an advantage
