Junior Procurement Officer
Brief Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Junior Procurement Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the procurement of goods and services, ensuring that all procurement activities are conducted in a fair, transparent, and efficient manner. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented and ambitious individual to gain experience and develop their skills in procurement.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of procurement plans, tender documents, and contracts
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and gather information on market prices and trends
- Coordinate with user departments to understand their procurement requirements and provide support and guidance on procurement procedures
- Assist in the evaluation of bids and proposals, and make recommendations for award of contracts
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of procurement activities, including procurement plans, tender documents, and contract agreements
- Ensure that all procurement activities are conducted in compliance with the organization’s procurement policies and procedures, as well as relevant laws and regulations
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in procurement or a related field, preferably in a similar industry or organization
- Knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and procedures, including the Ethiopian Federal Government Procurement Guideline
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data and make informed decisions
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as experience with procurement software and systems
- Certification in procurement, such as CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply) or a related professional certification, is an advantage
