Junior People and Administration Officer

Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Junior People and Administration Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will provide administrative support to the People and Administration department, ensuring the smooth operation of our organization’s human resources and administrative functions. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early career professional to gain experience in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the People and Administration team, including preparing correspondence, reports, and presentations
  • Assist with recruitment and selection processes, including scheduling interviews and maintaining candidate records
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personnel files and databases
  • Coordinate employee onboarding and offboarding processes, including preparing necessary documentation and materials
  • Provide support with employee benefits administration, including health insurance, pension, and other benefits
  • Assist with payroll processing and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations
  • Develop and maintain effective filing systems, both physical and digital, to ensure easy access to information
  • Perform other administrative tasks as required, including answering phone calls, responding to emails, and greeting visitors

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
  • 0-2 years of experience in human resources, administration, or a related field
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of Ethiopian labor laws and regulations, including the Labor Proclamation and the Employment Exchange Services Proclamation
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Fluency in Amharic and English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
