Job Title: Junior Irrigation Engineer

You will work closely with our senior engineers and other stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of projects. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct site visits to assess irrigation needs and develop designs for new or existing systems
  • Prepare detailed designs, specifications, and cost estimates for irrigation projects
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to develop and implement project plans, schedules, and budgets
  • Conduct hydraulic analyses and modeling to optimize irrigation system performance
  • Develop and implement water management plans to ensure efficient use of water resources
  • Provide technical support and training to clients and other stakeholders on irrigation system operation and maintenance
  • Monitor and evaluate project progress, identifying and addressing any technical issues that arise

Requirements

  • BSc degree in Irrigation Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
  • At least 2 years of experience in irrigation engineering, preferably in a similar role or industry
  • Strong knowledge of irrigation principles, practices, and technologies, including hydraulic analysis and modeling
  • Proficiency in CAD design software, such as AutoCAD, and other relevant engineering tools
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines as required
  • Fluency in English and Amharic, with knowledge of other local languages an advantage
  • Willingness to travel to project sites and work in a variety of environments, including rural areas
