Gender and Safeguarding Manager

Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Gender and Safeguarding Manager to lead our efforts in promoting gender equality and preventing safeguarding risks within our organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to ensure that our programs and operations are gender-sensitive and free from harm. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement gender and safeguarding policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with international standards and best practices
• Conduct gender and power analyses to identify areas of vulnerability and develop targeted interventions to address them
• Provide technical assistance and capacity-building support to staff and partners on gender and safeguarding issues
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including government agencies, civil society organizations, and community leaders
• Develop and manage budgets, work plans, and reports related to gender and safeguarding programming
• Lead investigations into safeguarding incidents and ensure that all cases are handled in a fair, transparent, and timely manner

Requirements

• Masters degree in Gender Studies, Social Work, Law, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
• At least 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably with an international NGO or humanitarian organization
• Proven expertise in gender and safeguarding, including experience in policy development, program design, and capacity building
• Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
• Fluency in English and Amharic is required; proficiency in other local languages is an asset
• Ability to travel frequently to field locations, including rural areas of Ethiopia
