Free Legal Aid Program Manager

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of our free legal aid program, overseeing a team of lawyers and support staff, and ensuring that our services are delivered efficiently and effectively. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic plans to expand and improve our free legal aid program
• Supervise and manage a team of lawyers, paralegals, and support staff to ensure the effective delivery of legal aid services
• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and community organizations
• Identify and pursue funding opportunities to support the growth and sustainability of our program
• Develop and manage budgets, reports, and other administrative documents to ensure the smooth operation of the program
• Ensure that our services are accessible and responsive to the needs of our clients, with a focus on marginalized and vulnerable populations

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized Ethiopian university, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a related field
• Admission to the Ethiopian Bar Association and a valid practicing certificate
• Proven experience in managing programs or projects, with a focus on access to justice and human rights
• Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and supervise a team of staff
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders
• Fluency in English and Amharic, with knowledge of other local languages an asset
• Computer literacy, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and other software applications
• Commitment to social justice and human rights, with a passion for working with vulnerable populations
