Free Legal Aid Program Manager

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Free Legal Aid Program Manager to lead our organization’s efforts in providing access to justice for vulnerable populations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of our free legal aid program, overseeing a team of lawyers and support staff, and ensuring that our services are delivered efficiently and effectively. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic plans to expand and improve our free legal aid program
- Supervise and manage a team of lawyers, paralegals, and support staff to ensure the effective delivery of legal aid services
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and community organizations
- Identify and pursue funding opportunities to support the growth and sustainability of our program
- Develop and manage budgets, reports, and other administrative documents to ensure the smooth operation of the program
- Ensure that our services are accessible and responsive to the needs of our clients, with a focus on marginalized and vulnerable populations
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized Ethiopian university, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a related field
- Admission to the Ethiopian Bar Association and a valid practicing certificate
- Proven experience in managing programs or projects, with a focus on access to justice and human rights
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and supervise a team of staff
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders
- Fluency in English and Amharic, with knowledge of other local languages an asset
- Computer literacy, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and other software applications
- Commitment to social justice and human rights, with a passion for working with vulnerable populations
