Development Expertise Center (DEC) is a national CSO registered in Ethiopia. The organization has five major programs: Child Well-being and Education Development, Gender and Life Skill Development, Employable Skills Development, Advocacy, and Humanitarian Emergency Programs. DEC actively works in seven National Regional States and one city administration of Ethiopia, namely Amhara, Afar, Oromia, Tigray, South West Ethiopia, Gambela, Benishangul Gumuz, and Addis Ababa City Administration. Role and Responsibilities

Supervise daily site activities and direct construction teams to ensure efficiency and quality.
Assign tasks to workers and ensure proper use of tools, materials, and equipment.
Ensure that construction work follows drawings, specifications, and safety standards.Ensure that materials are used efficiently and without waste.
Coordinate with the storekeeper or logistics team for timely delivery of construction materials.
Keep tools and equipment in good condition and report any damage or loss. Inspect work progress regularly to ensure high-quality workmanship and adherence to technical standards.
Enforce safety regulations and ensure workers wear appropriate PPE.
Identify potential hazards and take immediate corrective measures

About You
Qualifications and Experience

Diploma or certificate in Construction, Civil Engineering, or related field. Technical training or apprenticeship in building/construction is an advantage.
Minimum 3 years of experience in construction, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or foreman role.
Experience working in shelter or infrastructure projects in humanitarian settings is desirable.
Additional Skill

Ability to work in a team and under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Familiarity with local building regulations and the Gabella region is a plus
