Farm Manager

Brief Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Farm Manager to oversee the daily operations of our farm in Ethiopia. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of farm production, including crop and livestock management, equipment maintenance, and staff supervision. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in agriculture and farm management, with excellent leadership and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement farm production plans to achieve maximum efficiency and profitability
• Supervise and manage farm staff, including training and performance evaluation
• Oversee crop and livestock management, including planting, harvesting, and animal health
• Manage farm equipment and machinery, including maintenance and repair
• Monitor and control farm expenses, including budgeting and financial reporting
• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including environmental and health and safety standards
• Collaborate with other departments, such as sales and marketing, to develop and implement marketing strategies

Requirements

• BSc degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Economics, or related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
• At least 3 years of experience in farm management or a related field
• Strong knowledge of crop and livestock management, including farming practices and techniques
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with ability to manage and motivate staff
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with ability to make sound decisions
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances
• Fluency in English and Amharic, with ability to communicate effectively with staff and stakeholders
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to rural areas
