Job Title: Data Base Administrator, Smart Mobility

Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Base Administrator to join our Smart Mobility team. As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of our database systems, ensuring the integrity, security, and performance of our data. You will work closely with our development team to ensure seamless data flow and optimal system performance, supporting our mission to provide innovative mobility solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement database architectures that meet the needs of our Smart Mobility applications
  • Ensure data integrity, security, and backup systems are in place, and perform regular database maintenance tasks
  • Optimize database performance, troubleshoot issues, and resolve problems in a timely and efficient manner
  • Collaborate with the development team to integrate databases with applications and ensure data consistency
  • Develop and implement data backup and recovery procedures to ensure business continuity
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest database technologies and trends, and make recommendations for improvements

Requirements

  • BSc degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
  • At least 3 years of experience in database administration, preferably with experience in smart mobility or transportation systems
  • Strong knowledge of database management systems, including MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle
  • Experience with database design, development, and implementation, including data modeling and normalization
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with development teams and stakeholders
  • Proficiency in SQL, database programming languages, and scripting languages such as Python or Perl
  • Certifications in database administration, such as Oracle Certified Professional or MySQL Certified Database Administrator, are an added advantage
