Job Title: Cost Engineer

Brief Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Cost Engineer to join our team. As a Cost Engineer, you will be responsible for analyzing and managing costs related to our projects, ensuring that they are completed within budget and on time. You will work closely with our project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to identify areas for cost savings and implement cost-effective solutions. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost reports to ensure that projects are completed within budget and on time.
  • Analyze costs and identify areas for cost savings, implementing cost-effective solutions where possible.
  • Conduct cost-benefit analyses to determine the feasibility of projects and make recommendations to management.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that costs are accurately estimated and managed.
  • Develop and maintain cost databases, spreadsheets, and other tools to track and analyze costs.
  • Prepare and present cost reports and analyses to management and other stakeholders.

Requirements

  • BSc degree in Cost Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university.
  • At least 3 years of experience in cost engineering, preferably in a construction or engineering environment.
  • Professional certification in cost engineering, such as CCCE or CCE, is an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of cost engineering principles, practices, and techniques, including cost estimation, cost control, and cost analysis.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in cost engineering software, such as Primavera, MS Project, or equivalent, and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
