Job Description

Job Title: Community Development Facilitator (CDF)

Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Community Development Facilitator (CDF) to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating community development initiatives, building partnerships with local stakeholders, and empowering community members to take ownership of their development. The CDF will work closely with local government, NGOs, and community-based organizations to design and implement community development projects that address the needs and priorities of the community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate community development initiatives, including needs assessments, project design, and implementation
  • Build and maintain partnerships with local stakeholders, including government, NGOs, and community-based organizations
  • Empower community members to take ownership of their development through capacity building, training, and mentorship
  • Conduct community outreach and mobilization to raise awareness about community development projects and initiatives
  • Collaborate with other teams to design and implement community development projects that address the needs and priorities of the community
  • Monitor and evaluate community development projects to ensure they are meeting their intended objectives and making a positive impact

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Community Development, or a related field from a reputable Ethiopian university
  • At least 2 years of experience in community development, social work, or a related field
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining partnerships with local stakeholders, including government, NGOs, and community-based organizations
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a team and build strong relationships with colleagues, partners, and community members
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
  • Fluency in Amharic and English; knowledge of local languages is an asset
  • Willingness to travel to rural areas and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to community development and social justice, with a strong understanding of the Ethiopian context and development priorities
