Job Title: Area Coordinator- Adama, Oromia

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement area-specific plans and strategies to achieve program goals and objectives
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local government officials, community leaders, and other stakeholders
  • Coordinate and manage the implementation of programs, including training, monitoring, and evaluation
  • Supervise and support a team of staff and volunteers to ensure effective program delivery
  • Identify and mitigate risks, and develop contingency plans to ensure program continuity
  • Prepare and submit regular reports to management, including progress updates, challenges, and recommendations
  • Represent the organization in local meetings, events, and forums, and promote our mission and values

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as Business Administration, Social Sciences, or Development Studies
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a non-profit or development organization
  • Strong knowledge of the local context, including government structures, community dynamics, and cultural norms
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Strong planning, organization, and problem-solving skills, with ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities
  • Fluency in Afaan Oromo and Amharic, with strong written and spoken English skills
  • Computer literacy, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and other software applications
  • Ability to travel frequently to rural areas, with a valid driver’s license and/or willingness to learn
