Institutional Banking Officer I

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Institutional Banking Officer I to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional banking services to our institutional clients, building and maintaining strong relationships, and identifying new business opportunities. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with institutional clients to understand their banking needs and provide tailored solutions
- Identify new business opportunities and work with the sales team to develop and implement effective sales strategies
- Provide a range of banking services to institutional clients, including account management, transaction banking, and trade finance
- Conduct credit assessments and risk analyses to ensure that all banking activities are conducted in a safe and sound manner
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including credit, risk, and compliance teams, to ensure that all banking activities are conducted in accordance with regulatory requirements and internal policies
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, market developments, and regulatory changes to ensure that our banking services remain competitive and compliant
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Finance, Economics, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in institutional banking, with a strong track record of building and maintaining client relationships and identifying new business opportunities
- Professional certification in banking, such as the Certified Banking Professional (CBP) or the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, is an asset
- Strong knowledge of Ethiopian banking regulations, laws, and industry standards
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders
- Fluency in English and Amharic is required, with knowledge of other local languages being an asset
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
