Job Title: Consultant for Translation, Editing, and Technical Review of the 2017 E.C. Annual Democratic Governance Progress Report (English to Amharic)

Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced consultant to undertake the translation, editing, and technical review of the 2017 E.C. Annual Democratic Governance Progress Report from English to Amharic. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, clarity, and coherence of the translated document, as well as providing technical review and editing services to meet the highest standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate the 2017 E.C. Annual Democratic Governance Progress Report from English to Amharic, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and coherence.
• Review and edit the translated document to ensure consistency, grammar, and spelling accuracy.
• Conduct technical review of the translated document to ensure that it meets the required standards and is free of errors.
• Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure that the translation, editing, and technical review processes meet their expectations.
• Deliver the final translated, edited, and technically reviewed document in Amharic, meeting the required quality standards.

Requirements

• Advanced degree (MA or PhD) in a relevant field such as Linguistics, English, Amharic, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university.
• At least 5 years of experience in translation, editing, and technical review, with a focus on English to Amharic translation.
• Proven track record of delivering high-quality translation, editing, and technical review services, with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent knowledge of English and Amharic languages, with a deep understanding of linguistic and cultural nuances.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Familiarity with relevant software and tools for translation, editing, and technical review, such as CAT tools.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with diverse stakeholders and meet deadlines.
