Job Description

Job Title: Advanced Child Protection Training and Reviewing Internal Child Protection Manual Consultant

Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled consultant to provide advanced child protection training and review our internal child protection manual. The successful candidate will have a strong background in child protection, training, and policy development. The consultant will be responsible for delivering comprehensive training to our staff and reviewing our internal child protection manual to ensure it is up-to-date and aligned with international best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct a thorough review of our internal child protection manual and provide recommendations for updates and improvements
  • Develop and deliver advanced child protection training to our staff, including training on child rights, child abuse, and neglect, as well as strategies for prevention and response
  • Provide technical assistance and support to our staff to ensure they have the knowledge and skills needed to implement our child protection policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with our team to develop and implement a plan to integrate child protection into our programs and operations
  • Provide guidance and support to our staff on child protection issues, including case management and referral procedures

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Law, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
  • At least 5 years of experience in child protection, including experience in training and policy development
  • Strong knowledge of international child protection standards and best practices, including the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child
  • Experience working with NGOs, UN agencies, or government institutions in Ethiopia
  • Excellent training and facilitation skills, with the ability to deliver complex information in a clear and concise manner
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to review and improve policies and procedures
  • Fluency in English and Amharic, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to child protection and child rights
