Procurement and Customs Clearance Division Manager

Brief Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Procurement and Customs Clearance Division Manager to oversee the procurement and customs clearance processes for our organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement and customs clearance team, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and implementing effective procurement and logistics strategies to support the organization’s goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement procurement and customs clearance strategies to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations
  • Manage and supervise the procurement and customs clearance team, providing guidance and support to ensure successful operations
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to identify procurement needs and develop procurement plans
  • Conduct market research and analyze market trends to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers and service providers
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies and procedures
  • Analyze and resolve procurement and customs clearance issues, and implement corrective actions as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement and customs clearance management, preferably in a similar industry or organization
  • Professional certification in procurement or supply chain management, such as CIPS or APICS, is an advantage
  • Strong knowledge of Ethiopian procurement laws and regulations, as well as international trade agreements and customs procedures
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and direct a team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and develop effective solutions
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and service providers
  • Fluency in English and Amharic is required, with knowledge of other local languages being an advantage
