Ambulance Driver

The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting patients to and from medical facilities, providing basic life support care during transport, and maintaining the ambulance vehicle. Key Responsibilities

• Operate the ambulance vehicle in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations
• Provide basic life support care to patients during transport, including administering oxygen, taking vital signs, and performing other medical procedures as trained
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and medical personnel to ensure seamless care and transportation
• Maintain the ambulance vehicle, including cleaning, restocking supplies, and performing routine checks to ensure optimal functioning
• Document patient information, trip details, and other relevant data in accordance with company policies and procedures
• Collaborate with other emergency medical services personnel to provide comprehensive care and support to patients

Requirements

• Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent, with a valid driver’s license (heavy vehicle license preferred)
• Successful completion of an ambulance driver training program or equivalent experience
• First aid and CPR certification, with knowledge of basic life support procedures
• At least 2 years of experience as an ambulance driver, preferably in a similar setting
• Excellent driving record, with a strong commitment to safety and defensive driving techniques
• Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations, with strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Fluency in Amharic, with knowledge of other local languages an asset
• Physical ability to lift and maneuver patients, with the capacity to work in a fast-paced environment
