Job Title: Sanitary Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop sanitation systems, including wastewater treatment plants, sewerage systems, and stormwater management systems
• Conduct site investigations and surveys to identify sanitation needs and develop effective solutions
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, technicians, and stakeholders, to implement sanitation projects
• Develop and implement maintenance schedules to ensure the efficient operation of sanitation systems
• Monitor and analyze water quality data to identify areas for improvement and optimize sanitation systems
• Provide technical support and training to junior engineers and technicians
• Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in sanitary engineering

Requirements

• BSc or MSc degree in Sanitary Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
• At least 3 years of experience in sanitary engineering, preferably in a similar role
• Professional certification from the Ethiopian Association of Civil Engineers or a similar professional body
• Strong knowledge of sanitation systems, water quality, and environmental protection
• Excellent design and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in CAD software and other engineering tools
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders and community members
• Fluency in Amharic and English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
